Where do you live?Ottawa, Ontario

How and when did you get your start?I started digital paintings about three years ago. I’ve had no formal training whatsoever. Just countless hours in front of my screen studying techniques to improve my skills.
-
How do you make your illustrations?I paint them freehand digitally using a Wacom Intuos Graphic Tablet.
-
What is digital painting? In a nutshell, one’s approach to painting digitally is a lot like traditional paintings. I lay down the base colors then continuously layer over it, adding more and more detail with each layer.
-
So, what's your step by step process?"First thing is first is a discussion with the client to figure out what exactly they are looking for. About 90% of the time, when clients reach out, it’s because the like my work and so they give me a general direction but still leave A LOT of room for creative freedom. I then figure out a concept and do not actually start working until I have a clear idea of what I want the final piece to look like. From there, I go in and start painting.
-
How can I get a custom piece done? While privately commissioned portraits or pieces are less common due to a single person's budget versus an established company – it does happen – shoot me an email.
-
What are your rates?Rates in any creative profession are highly variable and rely heavily on the description and hours that go into the piece(s). Because of this, my rates are entirely situational. Best option – get in touch.
-
What are your turnaround times? This is another aspect that can vary from client to client. I’ve completed commissions in two day, and I’ve also completed others in a month or even two. Again – get in touch and we can figure out the details
